GUSTO E PROFUMO

Il miele di Erba Medica è di media dolcezza, vellutato, neutro con note di piante officinali; all'olfatto ricorda l'erba tagliata. L'odore e l'aroma sono di media intensità e così anche la persistenza. Talvolta, nelle sue componenti più pure, può avere qualche nota di acidità.

ASPETTO

Il colore è ambra/ambra chiaro quando si trova allo stato liquido, beige chiaro/color nocciola quando invece è cristallizzato.

LA PIANTA

Utilizzata per molti anni come alimento per gli animali erbivori, negli ultimi anni si è cominciato ad utilizzarla anche come alimento destinato al consumo umano. Le radici sono lunghe dai 3 ai 6 metri, è una pianta perenne che cresce in ogni tipo di terreno e non è soggetta ai cambiamenti climatici. Tuttavia, è in condizioni climatiche calde e umide che si realizzano le migliori produzioni di miele. Infatti, la produzione di questo tipo di miele è di anno in anno oscillante.

USI IN CUCINA E ABBINAMENTI

Grazie al suo gusto fresco/erbaceo, si abbina bene ai formaggi stagionati con note leggermente piccanti.
